Education and Outreach Subcommittee Tasks:

• Consider other stakeholders/individuals that should be part of subcommittee and recruit members of the community
•  Identify causes of water quality/quantity problems from education/outreach perspective
• Identify existing outreach and education activities and how we can improve
• Provide information about the Watershed Committee activities to the local media
• Develop an Outreach and Education plan to meet the goals of the Cypress Creek Project. For example:

1. Handouts, signs, programs, etc
2.  Potential Nonstructural BMP- outreach component with workshops, etc
3. Scenario planning for Cypress Creek to use for public outreach
4. Full Chapter 36 authority; how can we convince public it will be beneficial and help protect Cypress Creek
5.  Water conservation programs within schools
6.  Brochures for realtors/visitor center to pass about wells, water issues, water conservation, landscaping
7. Notify public of water-intensive plants such as Saint Augustine grass.
8. Maybe start a Water Watch program to call and report (already one at state level, but local would be good)
9. Install more trashcans/recycle bins near creek and swimming holes
10. Work with other subcommittee
