Welcome to the Cypress Creek Project

The spring-fed Cypress Creek and surrounding Hill Country landscape is a unique and cherished natural system located in and around Wimberley, Texas.

The physical beauty and rural tradition of this region has been attracting more and more Texans in recent years and with it, increasing demands to meet the needs of a growing community.

It is for this reason that the River Systems Institute, the community, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality created the Cypress Creek Project with the hope that future generations will be able to enjoy Cypress Creek as we do now.

Over the next three years, the Cypress Creek Project team will talk with community leaders, listen to and understand the needs of citizens and landowners, develop a practical tool for decision-makers to help prepare for future demands, and work to maintain the excellent water quality in Cypress Creek.
